Lots of people fear Friday the 13th considering that this date is unlucky.
Well, no one really knows the reason. Some believe that it may have begun because it was associated with the idea that there were thirteen people present in the room during the Last Supper the day before Jesus was crucified. While I can see the reasoning behind that, it is pretty funny when you think about it as I am sure there were plenty of servants going to and fro to ensure the comfort of thei guests.
Passover commemorated the flight of the Jews from Egypt as written in the book of Exodus. It is one of the oldest and most revered celebrations of the Jewish religion as it marks the escape of the Jews from slavery.
Christians would do well to remember that we, too, have escaped slavery.
Romans 8:13-What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
We need not fear black cats or walking under ladders or Friday the 13th for we are no longer slaves to superstition. God has things all under control. We may not like all the circumstances in which we need endure, but we know that Jesus is walking with us through them all.
