The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:6-8-Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
There is an old poster that features a cat hanging onto a piece of cloth only by its claws. Underneath, they had the phrase: Dear Lord, Help me to remember that there is nothing that is going to happen to me today, that You can’t handle.
As we get ready to leave for the hospital today, I pray that I can remember that even while hanging on by our fingernails, we can remember that God will help us handle anything. We are all selfish as while we look forward to communing with our Lord, the human part of us wants to cling to our loved ones here on earth. We are ‘ready’ but not ready quite yet.
Yet, in all things is God caring for us. He is with us in times of rainbows and storms. He will never forsake us. Let us be CONFIDENT in our faith knowing that He is never absent…
